Barry Bynum

Barry BynumBarry’s walk with Jesus began as a teenager among the people that later formed Hill Country Church. He was a founding member of the contemporary Christian music band, Liberation Suite, which grew out of a passion to bring the good news of Christ to young people through testimony and music. Thousands of young people were touched and led to be followers of Jesus as the band was sent out from Hill Country Church to take this message to Ireland, England and Europe.

A lifelong professional musician, and trained as a recording producer, Barry has spent decades dedicating his expertise to the extension of God’s kingdom through recording contracts with major Christian labels, touring the USA and Europe, long-term musical mission projects, youth evangelism at schools, leading worship, and mentoring young musicians by founding the SOWER school of worship which now operates in Austin.

In 1998, after 6 years in Ireland, Barry had recorded two solo albums and kept a full schedule of concerts, outreaches, and leading worship at events,  including playing with Robin Mark and the “Revival in Belfast” series of worship recordings on Intergrity/Hosanna.  At that time he and his wife Kristi and their son Jack moved back to Texas to begin serving the Lord in this area. In 1999 Barry joined the staff and leadership at Hill Country Church to head up the worship music ministry here.  Along with leading the teams for Hill Country, Barry mentors the students in ‘Calling Awake’, the chapel band for Hill Country Christian School.
